Tan Kim Kee
Kim Kee the
founder of Inner Peace Yoga Circle. She has been practicing yoga since she was a teen and
was an avid sportswoman in basketball and ping-pong since her school days.
Kundalini Yoga found Nam Joti in 2005 and which lead her to study Kundalini
Yoga with SKY under the guidance of Guru Dharam Singh and Pavllou Landraagon.
She is also a certified kids yoga teacher with her qualifications accredited by
US Yoga Alliance.
A dedicated mother of two grown up kids and a schoolteacher,
she understands the need of yoga to help distress and provide the energy for
both students and adults in the ever demanding and fast pace world. Nam Joti is
one of the teaches teaching Di Zhi Gui弟子规 in
NS and integrates these teachings into her classes. Her enthusiasm and
love for yoga and teaching provides a nurturing environment for her students,
adults and kids, to explore yoga and use yoga as a tool to serve us in
developing stamina and endurance to live life victoriously.
Janis is US Yoga Alliance E-RYT200 (experienced registered yoga teacher) and ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified Personal Trainer. She teaches yoga, Soul Vinyasa, Soul Fit, Swing Yoga (suspension system), Swing Fitness (body weight resistence workout similar to TRX), Les Mills' Body Balance (International Certification; Advance Instructor Module 1 & 2) and Bodyvive (International Certification).
She was the Head Teacher for the Bodybalance (Yoga, Tai Chi & Pilates) and Bodyvive (Cardiovascular and Functional Strength training) programs for Fitness First Penang.
She takes her role as a mentor to aspiring instructors as another way to reach out. She attends workshops and trainings annually to update and further her knowledge. These include Pure Yoga's 40-hour Teacher Intensive with Founding Director of Education, Patrick Creelman, Tripsichore Vinyasa workshop with Edward Clark, Shiva Rea's Prana Flow Teacher training with Twee Merrigan, Dynamic Anatomy workshop with Jean Campbell, Ann Barros' Introduction to Iyengar Yoga, Neck & Shoulders, Inversions, scoliosis and hyper-extended joints, Ashtanga intensive with David Swenson, Moving Information and Energy within the body with Simon Borg- Olivier as well as many others.
In 2014, she attended Group Fitness Innovative Teaching certification by Fitness Innovation Malaysia (KL), Anti-gravity and Aerial yoga, Bikram Hot yoga classes and Arm balance workshops in Singapore, Hong Kong and Jakarta.
This year, she has completed Fitness Innovation (Thailand)'s workshops in Corrective Exercise Specialist as well as Unique Elements - Effective HIIT Programming.
Throughout the year, she has an annual subscription to classes conducted in the US via internet streaming.
Her CPR certification is valid through 2016.
Over the years, she has taught those whose ages are still in the single digit to those who are past 80, from all walks of life. She volunteers on a weekly basis to provide community classes, the proceeds of which go directly to charity. Believing that yoga is for everyone and not only those who are seeking to stay fit and healthy, for the past 9+ years, she has been working with the National Stroke Association (Penang) supplementing their physical therapy program for the strokees by conducting a weekly yoga class.
Just as she has made connections with thousands over the years on the mat, Janis has similarly baked thousands of cupcakes, muffins, cookies in that time. Both provide her with the same "meditative" and fulfilling experience, enabling her to live her passion...of reaching out, sharing and helping in the way she knows best.
Janis has lived and studied in the US, briefly in Japan, earning a BA degree in 1988. She received her Train the Trainer certificate from the North West Regional Management Centre, UK in 1990. She has also worked in the corporate world and is a mother of two who are furthering their studies in the UK.
She draws on her experience, exposure as well as observations to conduct classes that help to bring meaning and resonance to each and every one who spends time on the yoga mat with her. Her classes reflect her training in alignment, safety, catering to each student's ability and her exposure to the many expressions of yoga, exercise and movement from various teachers. She is continually learning and using her knowledge to bridge the ancient discipline of yoga to the realities and challenges of life today. Her style is a fusion of all that and her own personality that make her classes sometimes quiet, riotous, fun.
Ng Beng Choo
Her first love affair with Kundalini Yoga began in 2006. She started her Kundalini Yoga Teachers
Training Course (KY TTC) with International School of Kundalini Yoga (i-SKY) in
August, 2011, an event which she considers both a major hallmark of her life
and a life changing experience. She
considered herself blessed to have the guidance of Guru Dharam Singh, Darryl O’Keeffe,
Siri Shabd Singh, Choong Han Ni and Nam Jothi. The journey of the KY TTC with i-SKY rekindled her passion
for Yoga, spurred her to teach again after a five-year sabbatical and share her
love for Yoga.
Beng Choo, a mother of a teenage daughter, has had a
passionate affair, spanning half her life time, with Yoga. An active sports person, she played state level field hockey,
enjoys squash and swimming. She
took up Hatha Yoga in 1986, while doing her undergraduate studies in University
Malaya. She is proud to have had Metta
Lim as her mentor teacher who freely shared her knowledge and groomed her to
teach in the mid 90’s when Yoga was still not widely practiced in Malaysia. She has had the good fortune to study
with several other teachers including Ann Baros, Nanda Kumar, and many others
who have managed to broaden her understanding of the many facets of Yoga.
Khor Lee Cheng
After being a long term student of Hatha Yoga, Lee Cheng came across Kundalini Yoga at IPYC. Her experiences in classes inspired her to deepen her experience and knowledge by training with Guru Dharam and Darryl O'Keeffe from iSKY.
Further experiences and retreats in France with Karta Singh and a host of teachers gave her the courage to unearth her inner potential as a teacher to continuously inspire her student to shine, laugh and have fun in life and not just in her yoga classes.
Choong Han NiHan Ni was a US Alliance Teacher since 17. A Teacher Trainer with iSKY, she is also a 500 hr certified teacher of Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Prenatal Yoga and Kids Yoga. She moved back to Malaysia after graduating from Law School in the UK. Together with her mom, they opened Inner Peace Yoga Circle in 2009. She is currently residing in Kuala Lumpur and travels throughout Malaysia and South East Asia to deliver Workshops and Yoga Teacher Training under the International School of Kundalini Yoga.
Han Ni trained closely under the guidance of Guru Dharam Singh (UK & Sweden) at iSKY, Karta Singh at Amrit Nam Sarovar School in France and Gong Meditations with Gong Master Sotantar. She was also one of the first students trained by Sat Santokh Singh (USA) to lead Healing the Wounds of Life Workshops, a modality for healing traumatic experiences.
She is also a trained Holographic Healing Analysis, Pranic Healing and Raindrop Therapist, and holds a Diploma in Aromatherapy from CARE Institute in the USA. Her teaching comes from her heart to all hearts, thus creating an open and loving environment for her students to grow and glow.
Siri Shabad Singh
Siri studied Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Bhajan, Guru Hans Singh, Guru Ram Singh, Guru Ram Kaur, Karta Singh, Shiv Charan Singh and many other teachers since 1977. He qualified as a Kundalini Yoga instructor in 1983 and has been teaching this technique since then.
He offers workshops and helps with the training of yoga instructors under International School of Kundalini Yoga (iSKY).
He and his wife Christine founded Aquarius Health in London (1996), Cyprus (2004) and have currently relocated to Chiang Mai Thailand. He specializes and offers workshops, Polarity Therapy, Chi Nei Tsang, Karsai Nei Tsang and Alternative Medicine at his retreat centre in Cypress and Chiang Mai.
